I have n...Hi Alivenow, and thanks for your comment. I have no idea how many times the recipe information on Dove's Farm brown flour packets has been changed, but I know that their recipes do change. I've not seen one which specifies egg whites, so that indicates they have published at least three different recipes. I used a Dove's Farm recipe, just a different one from the recipe you were using. <br /><br />I've noticed that the yeast used makes a considerable difference to the rise, which is why I specified Allinson's quick yeast. I've had problems with other brands. <br /><br />I did fail to mention the salt component. Sorry! However I feel it has to be said the recipe you say you used is not the Doves new or old recipe. <br /><br />The new one uses egg whites, a tablespoon of sugar, and 425 ml of milk and a teaspoon of salt. The old recipe uses two tablespoons of sugar, 350ml of milk and a teaspoon of vinegar.
